Emergency services are responding to a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle on Kite Hill in Wootton this afternoon (Wednesday).
Island Echo understands that 2 units from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary are on scene alongside a single ambulance following the collision.
It is unclear whether any secondary vehicles were involved, as for a time, a Honda Civic was surrounded by police vehicles in the middle of the road; however, the car has since been driven away.
The involved scooter is now standing upright on the side of the road, having seemingly sustained minimal damage.
The collision is understood to have occurred just past the turning to Firestone Copse Road on the eastbound side of the carriageway, with motorists approaching the area being warned of ongoing traffic delays and the presence of emergency services.
Island Echo has contacted Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary for an update regarding the circumstances surrounding the crash and details of any injuries.
UPDATE @ 17:05 – The road has now been cleared, leaving traffic to flow freely.
