Strike action has been announced on the South Western Railway (SWR) network, but not here on the Island.
Across the South, strikes will take place affecting train services on Thursday (16th March) and Saturday (18th March) but services on the Island Line will not face any disruption, due to strikes at least.
While Network Rail strike action has been called off, strike action by SWR RMT members will still take place, severely reducing the number of services that SWR can operate, meaning any Islanders looking to catch trains from the mainland will need to check departure times.
A spokesperson for South Western Railway has said:
“Trains will not stop at all the stations on strike days.
“A normal service will operate on the Island Line. On Sunday 19 March, a normal Sunday timetable will operate.”
