The Isle of Wight Council celebrated the official opening of the co-working and flexible office space Building 41 in Northwood last Thursday.
With over 100 people in attendance, guests were treated to tours of the building’s state-of-the-art facilities – including soundproofed meeting pods, spacious boardrooms, and trendy breakout spaces.
The building, a first of its kind for the Isle of Wight, aims to bring island businesses together and offers networking, business growth and productivity opportunities. Extra support initiatives and workshops delivered by the Go for Growth program and Business Impact Workshops are also available to all island SMEs.
Chris Ashman, Isle of Wight Council Director for Regeneration said:
“I’m really pleased with the turn out and response from Island businesses expressing interest at the open day.
The buzz and networking evident today is what we can expect every day as more businesses see Building 41 as their home from home”.
Julie Jones-Evans, Cabinet member for Levelling Up, Regeneration, Business Development and Tourism added:
“All the planning and hard work that went into creating Building 41 has paid off, the reception from the guests made my heart sing.
“It’s a first class environment to enable businesses to thrive and connect. Thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate this new asset to our island.”

I live near Northwood so where is building 41
It’s on the BAE site , Building 41 Newport Rd, Northwood, Cowes PO31 8BX
Spend millions on a building that will not benefit the island as a whole. Only the few. Typical council, the one thing they are superb at is, wasting our council tax money. I give it 6 months before they announce it will have to close due to lack of use.
