Hovertravel has been forced to suspend its cross-Solent service this Friday evening due to yet another technical issue.
It has been announced – for the second time this week – that services are unable to operate between Ryde and Southsea.
Solent Flyer is currently located on the pad at Southsea, where it has broken down. The sister craft ‘Island Flyer’ is undergoing works at Ryde and is unavailable for service.
The unfortunate issue comes in the middle of rush hour as customers head back to the Island for the weekend.
Hovertravel customers are being advised to travel via Wightlink’s Fastcat service instead.
An update is expected at 18:45, but it is unclear when exactly services are likely to resume.
It was just 2 days ago that the 10-minute Ryde-Southsea service was last out of action.
UPDATE @ 20:00 – Hovertravel has confirmed that it’s service will remain suspended until at least Saturday, with an update to be provided at 07:45 tomorrow morning.
Customers should continue to use Wightlink’s Fastcat service.
UPDATE – Services have now resumed as normal following repair works to Solent Flyer.
