Hovertravel has announced that its services between Ryde and Southsea have been suspended this morning (Wednesday).
Technical reasons are being blamed for the cancellation of the company’s cross-Solent service, but no further detail has been given.
Both Island Flyer and Solent Flyer are currently sat on the pad at Ryde.
Hovertravel apologies for the inconvenience caused and will next provide an update at 11:45, suggesting they anticipate the service to be suspended for at least 2 hours.
UPDATE @ 11:50 – Services are set to resume at 12:15 from Ryde and 12:30 from Southsea, Hovertravel has confirmed.
Red Jet, Red Funnel,Wightlink,Hovertravel & even our dear old Chain Ferry in East Cowes seem to regularly fall foul of technical reasons for cancellations. What the bloody hell is going on ?
dont forget the dear old island line and Southern Vectis we do not have a reliable transport system hear on this Island ,so you can understand why this forces people into cars ,fares are overpriced .if this goverment wants to preserve this planet .a fare strategy should be inplace throuout the UK to encourage people into the use of electric public transportation. it is a knock on effect ,if you increas fares this forces poeple to use there cars
