A serious incident at a property on Pan Estate has led to Police establishing a cordon around the residential address this afternoon (Wednesday).
Emergency services were called to Pan Close, off Furrlongs, at around 15:30 with Armed Police, a local dog unit and several other units from Hampshire Constabulary all responding.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service also dispatched 2 ambulances, an operational commander and a Critical Care Doctor to the scene.
It’s understood that the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance was initially scrambled to the incident, but was stood down on approach to the Island.
Emergency teams are now beginning to stand down from the incident, but Police – including detectives – remain in attendance.
UPDATE @ 17:45 – Island Echo is told that Armed Police moved in on the address, with other emergency crews rendezvousing nearby before then too descending on Pan Close.
Police are focusing their attentions to the rear of the semi-detached home.
UPDATE @ 18:45 – It has been confirmed that the body of a man has been found in the back garden of a property.
