Over £750 has been raised for Beaulieu Respite thanks to the efforts of the Vectis Historic Vehicle Club.
An open day was held at Arreton Barns on 21st June with a whole array of gleaming cars put on display for the public to enjoy.
Money raised on the day has now been handed over to Beaulieu Respite, the volunteer-run charity for the children and young people at Beaulieu House in Newport.
Peter Hodgson of the VHVC said:
“The club have recognised the difficulties in looking after a child/teen with challenging health issues. With parents often being the 24hr carers, to be able to take the load off them for a few days whilst the child is cared for allows a real break for parents and allows them time for other siblings”.
Tony Wake, Chairman of the charity Beaulieu Respite, said.
“This is yet another fantastic donation from the VHVC. Without kind donations we would not be able to run our charity. We not only pay for trips, toys and specialised equipment, but lot’s of fun too. This money will go directly towards the children’s Christmas party.”
