After rain and wind battered the Island last week it looks as if the bad weather is set to make a return tomorrow with heavy rain and winds expected to descend upon the Island.
Forecasters at IW Met Service have issued a yellow warning for heavy rain, which will come into force at 04:00 tomorrow morning (Tuesday) and last until 13:00 on Tuesday lunchtime.
A large area of rain will move in from the west during the early hours of tomorrow at around 04:00 accompanied by some very strong southerly winds.
The worst conditions are likely to affect the Island during the morning rush hour, with surface water and blowing spray likely, especially along the more elevated routes, as well as exposed coastal roads, with drivers warned to be careful when driving tomorrow.
Rainfall totals are likely to be around 20mm in many areas but localised heavier bursts could mean that a few spots see totals as high as 30-35mm, leading to the risk of susceptible streams and rivers breaching their banks due to the already high water levels across many of the Island’s waterways.
Gusts of up to 60mph in places, the combination of wind and heavy rain will exacerbate the already difficult driving conditions, especially over high ground such as that over the downs.

I suppose the Hosepipe ban will be back next week
