Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service is asking residents for their views on how the service should adapt and innovate to continue to meet the communities needs over the next 5 years.
Over the next 10 weeks, the service is asking for views on whether its objectives and proposals outlined in the draft Safety Plan are the right steps to continue to meet the needs of communities across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, both now and in the future.
The draft plan provides information on:
- who the service is
- the risks and challenges faced
- the work carried out
- the steps taken to prevent and respond to emergency situations
- objectives for the next 5 years and proposals that to help meet them
A short survey has been developed to only take a few minutes, and is open to all who live and work across Hampshire and Isle of Wight.

“We are always looking for ways to improve as an organisation serving the public.
“The role of a modern-day firefighter continues to evolve, and we are looking for new and innovative ways to protect the people across Hampshire and Isle of Wight.
“We need the help of our communities to tell us if they agree with our objectives, the proposals we have to achieve them, and if they feel we have missed anything from our plan.
“We are looking to develop a blueprint for how HIWFRS can continue to make life safer over the next five years.”
