Island Roads gritters will be out and about on the Island’s road network tomorrow morning (Tuesday).
Salt will be deposited on carriageways across the Island at around 05:00.
Island Roads made the decision due to forecasted low temperatures and has advised motorists to drive carefully and take additional care.
To find a list of all the Island's gritting routes, you can visit our dedicated Isle of Wight Gritting Routes & Winter Maintenance page.

I’d like to know the weather forecast they are looking at.
Every one I’ve seen gives a minimum overnight temperature of 5 Celsius.
Same here…….!!!?
Don’t forget this is Island Roads and IOW council -takes a week for emails and management authorisation to catch up. Like they put flood signs up 3days after the water has gone,or put up Road Closed signs for roads not closed ( come over Downs and diverts you to Brading for no reason,Ashey not closed its Great Preston Road) or traffic lights where there are no road works taking place,or Wroxhall they can’t work out how to shovel a small slip if dirt.
Predicted 4/5 c tonight not in minus temp and anyhow roads are mostly dry now.
Yes heard the forecast, even warmer tomorrow….. need to show they are important.
Instead of lecturing motorists on how to drive and advising them to drive carefully they should get their own driver’s trained to drive and drive within the laws and rules of the road instead of letting them drive like they own the road and the rules don’t apply to them instead of letting them tailgate and pull out Infront of oncoming traffic and not giving way when the law demands it
Who’s going to do the driving? Whenever I pass roadwoks they’re generally sitting in their lorries with their feet up.
It’s rain tomorrow and Thursday, i don’t drive i walk to work, and soon out of this shit country for good.
