Shanklin Town Brass Band has celebrated a successful evening of music and fundraising after performing to a packed audience at the United Reformed Church in Shanklin last week (Friday 1st May).
The concert, titled ‘A Night at the Movies’, saw attendees enjoy a programme of well-known film music, performed live in a community setting on the Isle of Wight.
Organisers say the event was met with an enthusiastic response, with a full house in attendance for the performance.
Thanks to donations on the night, a total of £571.25 was raised for the Mother and Baby Unit at the YMCA. The funds will go towards supporting services for mothers and babies in need.
A spokesperson for Shanklin Town Brass Band has said:
“We were thrilled to perform to a full house, with an enthusiastic audience who enjoyed an evening of much-loved film music.
“Thanks to the incredible generosity of those who attended, we are proud to announce that £571.25 was raised for the Mother and Baby Unit at the YMCA.”
The band has extended its thanks to all those who attended and supported the event, adding that they look forward to welcoming audiences to future concerts.
