Freshwater lifeboat crew member James Metcalfe has officially reached over half way as he walks from the Isle of Wight to Germany.
Now 29 days in at the time of writing, James has walked 355.5 miles so far through 3 different countries, England, France and has reported that he is currently in Belgium.
The unimaginable feat has so far raised over £4000 for 2 charities very close to James’s heart, the Freshwater Independent Lifeboat and The Lily Foundation.
As previously reported by Island Echo, the Freshwater Independent Lifeboat crew member, Scout leader and Round Table member, is taking on an extraordinary 711-mile journey on foot from the Isle of Wight to Coburg in Germany.
As well as raising awareness and donations, James is also appealing for support from local businesses, with sponsorship opportunities available to help cover the costs of travel, accommodation and food during the challenge.
If anyone wishes to donate please do so here, and if any companies wish to sponsor the costs of accommodation, fuel or food, they can do so by messaging Metcalfe’s Journey on Facebook.

Well done
