A 41-year-old man has been arrested, questioned and bailed following an altercation in Newport yesterday evening (Tuesday).
Police were called to St John’s Road at 18:20 to reports of an incident between a male and a group of 3 scaffolders.
Officers attended the scene and established that an assault had allegedly taken place.
The 41-year-old was subsequently arrested and taken into custody at Newport Police Station.
He has since been bailed until 8th January as enquiries into the incident continue.
