A yellow weather warning for fog has been issued for the Isle of Wight by local forecasters IW Met Service.
Coastal mist will spread inland and become increasingly dense overnight so that by daybreak the Island will see widespread, dense fog.
Through Thursday the fog will gradually lift into low cloud, leaving rather misty conditions for windward coasts where the mist and fog may still be rather dense at times.
Travel disruption can be expected, especially to cross-Solent services.
The fog will thicken up and become more widespread again overnight into Friday. Friday will see the pattern repeat with some coastal parts seeing foggy conditions but sunshine develop outside of these areas.
The warning is in force from 23:00 tonight (Wednesday) until 09:00 on Saturday.
