A flood warning – more serious than a flood alert – has been issued by the Environment Agency for Langbridge and Alverstone on the Eastern Yar.
In the last 48 hours, more than 40mm of rain has been recorded at Wroxall. This is a large volume of rain, especially as it follows prolonged, wet weather.
Currently the river is flooding land and cycle tracks along the river valley. However, upstream at Budbridge, the river has only just peaked.
The Environment Agency says that at Langbridge and Alverstone, the river will rise for at least the next 8 hours – perhaps longer – and may not peak until gone midnight at around 00:30. As the river peaks, it could be high enough to cause property flooding in both locations.
The level will be higher than recorded in February, locals are warned.
Residents should take immediate action to protect their properties.
A drier day tomorrow will allow levels to fall but the EA say they will continue to monitor the forecast.

Better get your wellies on then lmao
Hardly funny for someone who had done nothing to deserve such, gets their lives disrupted.
More like wayders
Gosh I hope the replacement bridge that has taken months to do, will not be washed away.
All that time spent in the van, watching vids on phones, all for nothing if so.
The Environment Agency people really earn their money.
