The Cowes Floating Bridge has been pulled from service this afternoon (Wednesday) due to the wind and tidal conditions.
The short crossing between East and West Cowes has been suspended as a result of the adverse weather conditions, which has also suspended Hovertravel’s Ryde-Southsea cross-Solent service.
Due to the high tide, a replacement foot passenger launch cannot be introduced so there is currently no link across the River Medina.
The Isle of Wight Council anticipates that the service will resume by 17:00.
