Firefighters from Ryde worked to extinguish a vehicle fire on a rural road this afternoon (Saturday). A single fire appliance was called to the scene on Knighton Shute at around 14:30 this afternoon after receiving reports that a vehicle had caught fire. Firefighters taped off the road whilst they tended to the vehicle. 2 firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used a single hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze. The occupants of the vehicle were not seriously hurt. The vehicle – which Island Echo understands was a Ford Focus estate – was left in-situ at the side of the road. Crews present left the scene at around 14:40, with the road swiftly reopened.

Silly old farts making’s people waste time again for them
What a nice person you are…NOT!! How do you know they ate elder? We’re you there? How do you define old?? Will you have the same mindset if you’re lucky enough to reach pensionable age!?
I bet your parents are really proud of you.
You sure they were old, was it a pipe smoking accident ?
In a Focus parked at the side of a country road, more likely a HotRock accident – bloody kids.
