Firefighters have used a high pressure hose to extinguish a small fire in the kitchen of a property in Totland this evening (Thursday).
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called out to Alum Bay Old Road shortly before 18:10 as a result of a number of tea towels catching fire in the kitchen of a residential property.
The towels had been left on a cooker, causing them to ignite.
A crew wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and tackled the fire before any damage was done. Natural air flow was used to vent the property.
