The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have been called to a farm in East Cowes where a number of hay bales are alight this evening (Sunday).
Multiple fire appliances from across the Island have been called to Padmore Farm, halfway down Folly Lane.
Island Echo understands at least 2 appliances from Newport have been called to the scene alongside a water carrier from Freshwater and another from Ventnor.
Some 30 hay bales are said to be on fire.
Crews were called to the same address just weeks ago when another set of hay bales were set alight.
The fire service was alerted to the blaze at around 17:45.
UPDATE @ 21:50 – The incident has been scaled back and just 1 appliance remains on scene.
It is unknown at this time if the incident is being treated as suspicious.

How did you get on to private land so quickly (less than 10 minutes) after we called the fire brigade to take this picture? How the bales are situated in the field unless you trespassed on our field you couldn’t of got that shot??
