Crews from the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance at a Newport property this morning (Saturday).
2 appliances from Newport and Cowes are at the scene on Albany Road after being called shortly after 09:35.
It’s understood that a plumber working at the house, which is currently under renovation, has accidentally set fire to the damp course with a heat torch.
UPDATE @ 10:11 – The small fire has been quickly extinguished using a bucket of water with no major damage reported.
Crews are standing down from the address, bringing the incident to a close.
