A horse in trouble in Blackwater resulted in a call out for fire crews from Ryde and Newport this morning (Easter Sunday). The incident occurred in a farm off Blackwater Road just after 11:00. Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service sent numerous fire appliances from both Ryde and Newport. Luckily, the trapped animal was freed by the owner and a vet – who had been called to the scene – before emergency service personnel arrived on scene.
