A fallen tree is causing a headache for commuters this morning as the debris is blocking the main Ryde to Sandown road on the outskirts of Brading.
Motorists are having to divert via Yaverland and Culver Parade as a result of the downed tree at Morton Common, close to the Avenue Road/Perowne Way junction.
The carriageway is blocked in both directions.
Island Roads is aware of the situation and contractors are due on scene to clear the blockage as soon as possible.
It is expected that the road will re-open before the main school run this morning.
