A Sandown mum has praised the generosity of an anonymous individual who bought a brand new scooter for her son, who had his stolen at the weekend.
Young Callum’s scooter was pinched from Sandown Library on Saturday lunchtime. Although it was later found and returned, with the culprit identified, it had been broken beyond use.
Michelle Churches’ posts on Facebook attracted the attention of local resident Steph Jeffrey, who kindly donated her son’s unused scooter to Callum for him to enjoy.
To Michelle’s amazement, she returned home from picking Callum up from school today (Monday) to find a brand new scooter left in the family’s porch. It came with a note…
The note reads:
“To Callum,
“So sorry to hear what happened with your scooter.
“You are such a kind, generous boy and have been an invaluable help to your mum over the last year. I hope you have lots of fun on this scooter to replace the one that was broken
“From anonymous!”
Michelle says that her faith in humanity has been restored and would like to personally thank the mystery man or woman, who is asked to come forward.
Furthermore, mum Michelle has thanked Steph Jeffrey for not only her initial generosity but for allowing Callum’s sister, Amelia, to continue using the donated second hand scooter too.

Aw how lovely 🙂
Well done to that person and steph! Nice to look after the young nippers!
What a lovely gesture! Such scum about these days, people feel they have the right to take other people’s belongings.
