Emergency services including the Police, Ambulance Service and the Fire and Rescue Service are in attendance at a road traffic collision near Havenstreet this evening (Saturday).
At least 5 police units alongside 2 ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and 2 fire appliances are at the scene on Stroud Wood Road, where it’s understood a vehicle has left the carriageway.
Roads are currently closed between Upton Roundabout and Rowlands Lane.
Unusually, a police dog unit has also arrived at the site of the collision.
Island Echo understands that officers are currently trying to locate an individual in connection with the incident.
UPDATE @ 23:39 – It has emerged that a small hatchback has left the road and come to rest in a nearby field.
The exact circumstances of how the vehicle exited the road is not clear, although it is evident that the car has crashed through hedgerow and scattered debris in it’s wake.
Officers are attempting to locate 2 of the 4 occupants of the vehicle who have run away from the scene in order to check on their welfare.
UPDATE SUNDAY @ 00:05 – Police units have successfully located the 2 missing occupants of the vehicle in order to check on their welfare.
It’s understood that 4 people have been taken to hospital via blue light ambulance to be treated for their injuries.
Firefighters and the remaining ambulance crews are now standing down from the scene, with the vehicle remaining in the field to await for recovery in the morning.
The road remains closed at this time.

Well I am glad the police had so many units available! When I reported two people trying to steal £5000 worth of property in broad day light I was told it was not in the public interest to investigate? I hope that’s the same when I pay the culprits a visit as I have there names !
