Cameron Palin has been named a Young Councillor of the Year finalist for the National Association of Local Councils’ (NALC) Star Council Awards 2023.
The prestigious awards are the only awards in England that recognise the Local (Parish and Town) Council sector. They celebrate local councils, councillors, young councillors, clerks, and County associations’ positive impact on their communities.
Councillor Keith Stevens, NALC chair, commented on the announcement and said:

On hearing the news that Councillor Palin has reached the final for the young councillor to the year’s award, Councillor Tracy Reardon, Mayor of East Cowes said:

The winners of the Star Council Awards will be announced during NALC’S highly anticipated Parliamentary reception, which will take place on 29th November 2023 at the House of Lords.

Old farts and boomers complain about younger generations, but here’s an example of 5 young people doing what they said they would do. I think we should be pleased one of our young town councillors has been recognised nationally.
