Island Echo has been told that the driver misjudged the sweeping bend. Extensive damage has been caused to the vehicle which now has a crumpled bonnet, missing wing mirrors, and a mangled front bumper.
It’s understood that the driver of the vehicle has sustained minor injuries.
Southern Vectis has warned of minor delays to its Route 7 service.

One less idiot on the road.. Has probably done us all a favour.
There will be another idiot along soon….
Cars don’t just collide with trees all by themselves. Incidents such as this are usually caused by poor driving, perhaps driving too fast, or not looking at the road ahead…. Still, one blessing in this case, at least no innocent third party was hurt as a result of this drivers ‘misjudgement’.
We are all hurt by this. Everybody’s insurance rates creep up to cover the costs of these incidents.
What the hell is up with the trees and hedges on the island ? Its not safe out there. !!!
I hope the tree is ok, yet another boy “racer” proving you can buy a fast car but it is no use if you have neither the brains nor the skill to drive it, hopefully the idiot will be off the road for some time to come and that will help make the roads safer for other users.
Reg where did you find all this extra information?
No report on tree condition?
more like miss judged how hard driving and texting at the same time is.
