A 30-year-old man from Wootton has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and common assault following a disturbance in Lake last night (Saturday).
Officers were called to Medway – off The Fairway – at just before 22:00.
Island Echo is told by locals that gardens were being searched with Police remaining on scene until the early hours of this morning.
A large white Mercedes Sprinter van has been left abandoned and blocking the road following an apparent collision with a Kia Picanto, which has sustained damage to a rear door and has been shunted out of its parked position.
Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed that a 3o-year-old from Wootton has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving, as well as common assault.
He remains in custody at this time.
