A yellow weather warning for fog has been issued for the Isle of Wight by local forecasters IW Met Service.
Localised fog patches will develop throughout the night with the risk of more extensive fog developing towards dawn.
Visibility will be very poor locally and there will be a risk of freezing fog in areas where temperatures are sub 0c.
The exact coverage of fog is a little uncertain, but the risk is high enough to breach the warning threshold.
Low elevation routes are most likely to be affected and there is a risk of disruption to cross Solent travel.
The warning is in force from 01:00 until 11:59 on Tuesday 21st January.
