In Southern Premier Division 1, Ventnor chalked up their 5th win of the season to date by trouncing Old Tsutonians & Romsey by 8 wickets at Steephill. After losing the toss and being put in to field, Ventnor’s bowling attack made short work of the away side. The visitors were skittled out for a modest 71 runs in the 28th over, with Sri Lankan professional Dineth Thimodya taking 3-11 and notching up 3 catches. He was supported by Zach Wells (3-23) – who was unlucky not not to have had a hat-trick – and Daniel Cox (2-9). Ventnor took just 12 overs and 1 ball to overcome Old Tautonians total for the loss of just 2 wickets, with Thimodya smashing 55 not out in 37 balls, including including 5 4s and 4 6s. In Hampshire Division 1, Ryde slumped to their 5th defeat of the season at Hythe and Dibden. After losing the toss and being put in to bat, Ryde were skittled out for just 126 in the 40th over. Hythe & Dibden overcame the Ryde total with 5 overs to spare. Hythe & Dibden 127/6 Ryde 126 all out Hythe & Dibden won by 4 wickets Ryde’s defeat leaves them 15th in the table with a points average of 11.38. In Hampshire 4 (South), Ryde 2nds suffered a 6-wicket defeat to Langley Manor 2nds at Harding Shute. After losing the toss and being put in to bat, Ryde were bowled out for 171 in the 45th over, with Jerin Jose top scoring with 32 not out. The visiting side surpassed the Ryde total in the 39th over for the loss of 4 wickets. In Division 3 (South), Shanklin & Godshill continue to snap at the heels of leaders Ventnor after a comprehensive 8-wicket win at Sway. After losing the toss and being put in to bat, Sway limped to a total of just 93 in 35 overs. Nathan Moore (4-25) was the pick of the Shanklin bowlers, Ben White (3-15) took a treble of wickets, with his brother Jack White (2-24) taking a brace. Shanklin easily surpassed the Sway total in the 15th over, with opener Matt Lambourne hitting 37 not out.
