The discovery of a deceased dolphin on the beach at Binstead led to a call out for Coastguards yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).
Island Echo was contacted by a member of the public about the discovery, with advice given by reporters to contact HM Coastguard.
It wasn’t long until Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team were tasked to Players Beach to locate the badly decomposed mammal.
Relevant measurements were taken and forms completed so
that the information can be sent on to the Natural History Museum in London.
Disposal was then arranged.
