Mystery surrounds a Peugeot that has been left abandoned in a field on the outskirts of Havenstreet.
The vehicle – a black Peugeot – was heading towards Binstead along Main Road when the driver mounted the verge and careered through the hedge ending up around 10 metres into the private land.
The car – which sustained front-end damage only – has been left in the field halfway between Stroud Wood Road and Firestone Copse Road.
It is believed the incident happened overnight.
Police have been unable to provide us with any information, despite there being numerous ‘police aware’ stickers visible on the vehicle.
This is the 2nd incident involving abandoned Peugeot hatchbacks in as many days after a 206 was rolled into a field near Arreton yesterday.

best place for a PEUGEOT
It’s the drivers fault not the Peugeot
A favourite car for idiots, they love driving crap like that….expecially when drug driving…
Is there no online news to comment on in the wonderful Burley? You moved away because you hate the Island so much. Do everyone a favour and break all ties.
You are coming across as very sad. If you have nothing positive to say about the Island stay away! Your constant negative response is quite simply sad.
Don’t be mean to Good/Burley Driver. He never really left. He’s just playing a game with us and you just let him win by reacting. One point to Good/Burley Driver. Just let him rattle at it. Like everybody else born on the island, he has limited cognitive abilities so only deserves pity.
Thank you Goblin Lord, your very kind….
So there’s the height of your intelligence, you’ve just thanked somebody who says you only deserve pity. You truly are a lost cause!
You couldn’t possibly fathom the extent of our cognitive abilities, so lord goblin, challenging you would be too easy. Come find us and we will show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.
Only recently moved here, so I still have the right to continue reading IE..And it’s nice for me to be close to my elderly mum, so stop winging on about who can and can’t read IE.. Incase you are unsure, the Internet allows us all to communicate all over the world…
Where did Kev say you didn’t have the right to read the IE site, or whether you can or can’t? If you’re going to respond to a comment, try and make it relevant to what’s been said to you.
Stuart on the pot
Burley Drivel you must be missing us the way you bang on, open the curtains close your laptop and go for a walk..
There must be a peugeot curse on the island
Peugeots are a curse!
A bit like yourself then!!!
The curse is the idiot behind the wheel.
I did tell good driver not to smoke and drive
Don’t you ever get bored
No all Kev does is be a pain he should be banned
Genuine question – could the landowners get in Cliftongrade to come and collect without penalty/
Why won’t the police give any information ?
They haven’t asked Island Echo yet!
Thank God we’ve moved away from the Island, it is far from the place my Parents once brought us there. It’s a beautiful place, but far more to life than the Isle of Wight unfortunately
Very true
The island lacks motoring rules
Speeding
Parking on Pavements
and
Drink and Drug driving is a problem on the Island
There are no rules on the Island
Never liked this bit of road can not get more than a ton out of my motor as there are too many bends better on the Millie where you can do a ton 40 no probs.
Is your car called “Toonstown” by any chance
Will we ever run out of idiots ? Or are they being allowed back on the roads ?
If none of these vehicles are registered (ergo no tax/mot/insurance either) would a simple government intervention not be to have some identification process at the pumps that checks vehicle details and drivers details. If either are questionable the pump refuses to fill?
They probably are registered, but the police here are so stupid they don’t bother checking.
Then most likely, numberplate cloning would go through the roof.
Rob ur a door knob
15 minute cities will solve this problem.
Not long to wait.
Makes a change from Idiots parking on Pavements.
Are there no Driving rules on the Island!.
