A van has crashed straight into some railings on a busy road in Lake this afternoon (Sunday).
The incident occurred at around 15:00 on the corner of Lake Hill and Sandown Road, just outside Kimbo’s.
A white Citroen Relay van -heading toward Sandown – has veered off the road and straight into the metal railings sustaining major damage to the front end, loosing the passenger side front wheel in the process.
No injuries were sustained.
The road is still open and traffic is able to pass under Police direction.
Southern Vectis have said that its route 2, 3 and 8 buses may encounter some delays as a result.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
UPDATE @ 17:05 – The vehicle is currently being recovered by Bartletts.
The road is to fully reopen again shortly.

To be fair, those railings are a bit low to see over all that rubbish piled up on the dash.
So another set of temporary light for a few months to fix the rails and i bet its 200k or more
