Police and paramedics are responding to a collision on Halletts Shute in Yarmouth this afternoon (Tuesday).
The incident – thought to involve 2 or 3 vehicles – occurred at just before 15:15 near the junction of Pixley Hill.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service is responding to the scene with a paramedic crew and an officer, however, a Co-Responder from Freshwater is already in attendance. Police are also heading West.
It’s reported that the road is blocked in both directions.
Southern Vectis is advising that it’s Route 7 and 67 buses are unable to serve Norton Grange, Pixley Hill or Hooke Hill. The nearest stops are Yarmouth Bus Station or Freshwater Co-Op.

What is going on on this island? That looks like a straight section of road, so visibility should have been good. At 3pm today the weather was fine. I hesitate to be critical as it may have been caused by a medical incident, or a mechanical fault, but goodness me, reading these pages regularly makes you want to suggest the island is used for training purposes by the keystone cops.
The sun is very low at that time and could have been the cause.
