Cowes Sports brought the curtain down on the 2025/26 campaign with their annual presentation evening on Saturday night.
Players, supporters, committee members and club volunteers gathered to celebrate another busy season at the Diverse Marine Stadium (Westwood Park), with the club paying tribute both to the award winners and those who work tirelessly behind the scenes throughout the year.
Among the major winners on the night for the Yachtsmen’s first team were Ryan Oatley, who picked up the Manager’s Player award, and Ryan Hughes, who was voted Players’ Player of the Season.
Scott McFarlane collected the Top Goalscorer award, while Callum Chase was named Coaches’ Player of the Season.
Finley Phillips enjoyed a memorable evening, sharing the Sponsors’ Player of the Season accolade alongside George Colson, as well as winning Goal of the Season for his strike against Bournemouth Poppies.
Rowan Cruttenden was recognised as the club’s Young Player of the Season.
For the reserve side, Ted Mumford won the Manager’s Player award, Euan St John Biggs was named Players’ Player, and Luke Smallwood finished as Top Goalscorer.
The Club People of the Year awards went to Leana Knight and Phil Smith in recognition of their commitment and contribution to the club.
Cowes Sports ended the season in 13th place in the Wessex Premier, 3 points ahead of local rivals East Cowes Victoria, while the reserves finished 3rd in Isle of Wight Division 1.
However, the Yachtsmen were unable to retain the Isle of Wight Gold Cup, which was won by Newport.
Looking ahead to the new campaign, 1st team captain John McKie has already promised silverware for Cowes Sports next season.
The club also thanked its committee and volunteers for organising the evening and for their continued efforts throughout the year, with everyone now looking forward to a well-earned summer break before preparations begin again for 2026/27.
