A motorboat with 2 people aboard that had gone hard aground on the shore of the Beaulieu River led to Cowes RNLI lifeboat making a cross-Solent trip yesterday evening (Saturday).
With the motorboat coming to grief at the mouth of the river on a receding tide, the 4 lifeboat crew members knew they were in for a long wait for the tide to change and refloat the craft and were joined in their wait by Calshot lifeboat.
With concern that the motorboat crew could suffer from dehrydration in the blisttering heat, 2 members of the Calshot lifeboat approached on foot to pass over bottled water.
As the tide began to the move the motorboat motorboat allowing it to once more be afloat, with no damage perceived to its hull, both lifeboat were eventually stood down.
Cowes lifeboat returned to station at 19:18.

I just hope the people who ran aground will dig deep in their pockets & donate monies to the people who came out to assist them. Xx
