Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team were paged to reports of a possible raft washing ashore at Ventnor earlier today (Wednesday) – but what officers found was something completely different.
Solent Coastguard requested the deployment of the team at 16:28 following a report of a raft washing ashore at Wheelers Bay.
Coastguard officers were soon on scene and discovered a large amount of fishing nets on the rocks.
The nets were recovered to safety as they could pose a threat to navigation and marine lift.
Details were passed to the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre – formally known as the National Maritime Operations Centre – at Fareham.

It’s a french stealth net trying to sneak a few fish, remote controlled from afar, but being french the electronics and sensors are a bit iffy and prone to put it in limpet mode. Hence it washed up with limpets.
It could just be fishing nets ?
