Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team had their first call out of 2022 yesterday (Sunday) when a member of the public found what they thought was a piece of unexploded ordnance.
Solent Coastguard tasked the team to Sandown Bay at 14:08 following a call from a concerned member of the public.
On this occasion, the object was nothing more than a cylindrical piece of concrete.
Coastguards have praised the first informant who did the right thing by calling 999 and sharing their concerns.
