Students from Christ the King College have created a mural bursting with vibrancy in the playground of nearby St Thomas of Canterbury Primary School.
At the end of the last term, students in Years 10, 12 and 13 picked up their paintbrushes and got to work at the primary school in Carisbrooke.
The students were following a visualisation suggested by the Head of St Thomas’ and a design brought to life by Year 13 girls Joanne Green and Eloise Buttery.
Fine Art students in Year 10 also lent a hand in the painting.
Adam Brown, Head of Art at Christ the King, said:
“It was a fantastic opportunity for the older students to design the mural and for the younger students to help with the painting. I was really impressed with their determination to get the picture completed and the results are excellent.
“We had some great feedback from the students at St Thomas’ who loved watching the mural come to life during the days we were there. We hope that we have brightened up their play area and promoted a positive message”.
