A sold-out charity supper club held at the Sir Max Aitken Museum in Cowes has raised £4,500 for the Isle of Wight Youth Trust.
The special Chinese New Year themed event was organised by local businessmen Paul Thorley, known as ‘Mr Yummy’, and Mark Henry, bringing together supporters for an evening of food and fundraising.
Guests enjoyed a five-course Chinese-inspired menu created and prepared by Paul, while Mark hosted the evening. The event also featured themed décor to mark the celebration, with Nancy Thorley curating the room and dining table.
A raffle held during the evening helped boost the fundraising total, contributing to the £4,500 raised for the charity.
The event received support from the Isle of Wight business community, with sponsorship provided by PC Consultants, Vehicle Consulting – Solent, Island FX Ltd, The Garlic Farm, Nunwell Home Farm and Hinton Group UK.
Paul Thorley has said:
“Fundraising in 2026 is tougher than ever, which is why our Charity Supper Clubs matter so much.
“These evenings bring people and charities together over good food, good conversation and real generosity. Thanks to our guests, sponsors and incredible volunteers, we’ve now raised over £30,000 for Isle of Wight charities — and we’re excited to keep building on that at our next event.”
Funds raised from the evening will help the Isle of Wight Youth Trust continue providing free mental health and wellbeing support to children and young people across the Isle of Wight.
