Police and paramedics are attending a single vehicle road traffic collision in Newport this morning (Sunday), in which a car has ploughed head on into a set of traffic lights.
Emergency services are on scene at Furrlongs, Pan where the entrance to the estate meets St George’s Way.
Island Echo understands that a car has collided head on with the set of permanent traffic lights that are in place as a pelican crossing.
No other vehicles are thought to be involved in the smash, which occurred at just gone 10:00.
Motorists should expect delays in the area.
