2 Isle of Wight brothers have been jailed for a combined total of 21 years following an aggravated burglary in Newport and a robbery in Lymington.
Jayzer Sam Wilkie, 31, of Pallance Road in Northwood – a convicted drug dealer – was charged alongside his brother, 28-year-old Jak Dylan Wilkie of no fixed abode, for an aggravated burglary in Newport and a robbery in Lymington.
On 29th August 2019, the pair forced entry to an address in Westminster Lane, Newport and threatened the occupants with knives. Nothing was stolen during the incident.
Then, at around 07:30 on 1st September 2019, the pair flagged down a Renault Clio which was driving along School Lane, Lymington. The driver, a man in his 30s, was assaulted by both defendants who then stole his car. They were stopped and arrested by police a short time later before being charged with robbery.
Initially, both men denied the burglary but last Tuesday (25th February) – the first day of their trial – they pleaded guilty at the Isle of Wight Crown Court. Both had pleaded guilty to the robbery at an earlier Magistrates’ Court hearing.
They were sentenced on Wednesday 26th February to 9-and-a-half years each for the burglaries and an additional 12 months each for the robbery.

I know a few other wilkies and Unfortunately part of that “family” have that surname to and are not anything like these. Never paint somebody with the same brush just because of their surname.

Kindness ,respect and civility should be within all humans. But when people do wrong ,and know they are doing wrong, then they need to be reminded of kindness, respect and civility. A child learns that fire hurts ,so doesnt touch it again. These type of people have to learn the same. It’s quite simple.
