Fog horns are sounding out across the Solent this morning (Thursday) as a blanket of thick fog causes travel disruption.
Cross-Solent services are being adversely affected by the foggy conditions.
Red Funnel is advising of 1 hour delays on its East Cowes-Southampton vehicle ferry service.
The hi-speed Red Jet is also likely to be delayed today.
Wightlink and Hovertravel are both operating to timetable, according to their respective websites.
IW Met Service has a yellow weather warning for fog in force until 11:00.
UPDATE @ 09:38 – Red Funnel has confirmed that its Red Jet service between Cowes and Southampton has been suspended.
Meanwhile, there are 2-hour delays on Red Funnel’s vehicle ferry service to and from East Cowes.
Both Wightlink and Hovertravel are still running to timetable.
How come wightlink still running but red funnel not ,,,,, any excuse I’d say opps remember red funnel ferries can’t be trusted when fog about
Because since their various crashes in the harbour during fog, the harbour master won’t let them go in or out if it’s foggy. Time they started building a fixed link
