Bembridge RNLI’s Inshore Lifeboat was launched this evening (Sunday) to locate a stranded motorboat and its 4 passengers that had broken down off the coast of Seaview.
Their D-class lifeboat (RNLB Norman Harvey) was as launched at 21:50 this evening at the request of UK (Solent) Coastguard to locate and assist a 6.1m motorboat with 4 people (2 adults and 2 children) onboard that had broken down off Seaview.
Conditions and visibility were good, so it did not take them long to locate the motor boat and having assessed the options concluded that the most sensible one was to tow the boat into Bembridge Harbour.
Having safely berthed the motorboat alongside the Visitors Pontoon by 22:35, the Norman Harvey returned to Lane End and was recovered by 23:00.
