Bartletts Service Station has announced that it is to discontinue its long-standing van hire service, effective from July 2024. This move comes in response to the relentless surge in insurance costs, rendering the provision unsustainable for the family-owned business. The Newchurch-based firm has proudly served as the Island’s foremost independent garage for over 50 years, offering a comprehensive van hire service that has catered to diverse needs across the Island since 1980. However, escalating operational expenses have driven the local business to re-evaluate its service offerings.
“Parting ways with a service that has been integral to our business for many years is never straightforward. However, the continued increase of insurance costs leaves us with no choice but to say goodbye to our van hire service. We are committed to ensuring that our loyal customers are not burdened with inflated costs.” “This strategic shift gives us the opportunity to double down on our efforts towards advancing the excellence of our core services at our established Newchurch yard. We are committed to delivering unparalleled service standards and look forward to nurturing our valued customer relationships.”
Despite saying farewell to van hire, Bartletts remains steadfast in its commitment to serving the Isle of Wight community with integrity, reliability, and unwavering professionalism. As the company navigates this transition, it anticipates further opportunities for growth and innovation in its core service offerings. Anyone with questions or queries about an existing booking can be assured that this will still be honoured, but to discuss, call Bartletts directly on 01983 865 338 or visit their website at http://www.bartlettsservicestation.co.uk

Claims have actually reduced overall, but the cost of repairs and total loss claims has massively increased, due in part to the lack of skilled repairers nationally.
