A 35-year-old man has been arrested after damaging a woman’s phone in East Cowes this morning (Friday). Officers from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary were called just after 09:00 this morning to a report that a man had damaged a woman’s mobile phone at an address in Monks Walk, East Cowes. At the scene, officers arrested a 35-year-old from Newport on suspicion of criminal damage. He remains in custody at this time.

Presumably as the female’s phone was damaged the suspect called the old bill to report the incident on her behalf using his own phone.
