The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has touched down in the West Wight this morning (Thursday) in response to a medical emergency.
Flying medics have landed at Colwell Common for their first shout of the day, assisting the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
It was at around 08:20 that the charity was alerted that its help was required, resulting in the helicopter being scrambled from its new base at Southampton Airport.
UPDATE @ 09:03 – In what is an unusually quick turnaround, the air ambulance has taken off – and is now conveying the patient to Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth.
