4 fire appliances and the Incident Command Unit have been mobilised to St Mary’s Hospital in Newport this morning (Saturday).
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called to Parkhurst Road at around 09:00.
Island Echo is told that fire crews have made their way towards the north end of the hospital by the children’s ward.
UPDATE @ 09:32 – It has been confirmed that the call out has been deemed a false alarm.
The alert was trigged accidentally by workmen.
