AIR AMBULANCE SCRAMBLED TO MEDICAL EMERGENCY IN HEART OF RYDE

The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has been scrambled to a medical emergency in the centre of Ryde this afternoon (Friday). Scrambled from its Thruxton base at around 16:30, the green and yellow liveried helicopter touched down at Simeon Recreation Ground at around 16:50. A single ambulance from Isle of Wight Ambulance Service as well as St John’s Ambulance have met the chopper on the ground on Rink Road. Flying medics are currently tending to the casualty inside a nearby ambulance. It is understood that the medical emergency took place in the nearby Tower House Surgery. After brief checks on scene, the casualty has been taken to St Mary’s Hospital by land ambulance.
