4 appliances from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service are responding to a residential property fire in Freshwater this afternoon (Monday).
Fire crews are tackling what has been described as a fire to the rear of a domestic property in Guyers Road.
It’s understood appliances from Freshwater, Newport and Ryde – plus the Incident Command Unit – are responding to the incident.
UPDATE @ 13:50 – It has been confirmed that the fire is now out and checks are being carried out on neighbouring properties.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue say they were called at 12:56 to a ground floor property. The first crew on scene, Freshwater, noted smoke issuing from the ground floor property.
The cause has not yet been determined.
UPDATE – An elderly female occupant of the property has been tended to by paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, but has not required hospitalisation.
