29-YEAR-OLD CHARGED WITH THREATENING A PERSON WITH A KNIFE IN RYDE

29-year-old Kai Smart has been charged with threatening a person with a knife following an incident in Ryde earlier this week.

As first reported by Island Echo, Police descended on Sandcroft Avenue shortly after 20:00 on Tuesday night following reports of a male armed with a knife making threats.

Now, Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed that Kai Smart, of Sandcroft Avenue, has been charged with threatening a person with a blade/sharply pointed article in a public place and assault by beating of an emergency worker.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court yesterday, where the case was sent to the Crown Court on 19th July.
